I’m trying hard this week to get a bunch of new things up in the web shop—note, there is always more there than I’ve posted here, so please visit sometime! (Criticaleyefinds.com)
Meantime, here’s a tower of 1960s Valenti Italian enamel kitchen canisters with wooden lids. This set actually includes a bonus canister--for instant coffee--in addition to the four that I believe were originally sold together (flour, sugar, coffee and tea) and which nest one inside the next. Around the perimeter of each, in alternating white and red stylized text (in relief) are the names of each product in various languages, adding international flair to coffee or tea time (and certainly instant coffee sounds more appealing when referred to as caffe minuto!) The largest (flour) canister measures 5 5/8" tall x 5 1/4" in diameter; smallest (Instant coffee) is 3 7/8" t x 3 1/2"d. Excellent condition. $100 for the set of 5.
Stacked on top, a terrific pair Lagardo Tackett for Schmid Porcelain demitasse cups, c. 1950s. I think the yellow is perfect--cheerful, but with a bit of mustard that gives them an edge (Scroll for a better portrayal of color in later pix) and the lines really great…and I swear espresso (or even instant coffee) tastes better in them! Excellent condition, each cup" 4" tall x 3" across at handle x 1 3/4" deep. $24 for the pair.
All up in the shop. Tags with links in first photo.
